Tools End Mill
At the heart of any metal working shop is the milling machine, which functions very much like a drill press with one exception. A milling machine has bearings solid enough to let it handle not only end loads, but side loads as well. Milling machine are used not only for milling holes, slots, and pockets, but for surfacing, drilling, boring, and profiling.Key to the entire milling process are end mills, which look like drill bits with the difference that they cut not only on the end, but on the sides. Most end mills have flat ends, but there are some with rounded ends which can be used to create round-bottomed slots. The spiral cuts in the sides of end mills are referred to as "flutes," and end mills are manufactured with 1, 2, 3, or 4 flutes. The fewer flutes an end mill has, the softer the metal it can cut, because the wider spacing between the flutes allows more clearance to allow the escape of the metal chips created during the milling process.Machining tool end mills with 1 flute have been used on large jobs which require high speed milling of aluminum, like those in the aerospace industry. But one disadvantage which offsets the fast performance of tool end mills with 1 flute is that their asymmetry requires them to be taken offline and balanced if they are to be used at high spindle speeds. Machining aluminum and other soft materials with Carbide Cutting Tool's Zirconium-coated carbide 2-flute end mills will provide the same high speed performance of a 1-flute end mill, without requiring offline adjustments. The geometrical design of the limits the amount of aluminum chips which adhere to the end mill's edge by keeping the tool out of the path of the flying chips. While it may lack the flute clearance of a 1-flute end mill, Carbide Cutting Tool's end mill with 2 flutes does have gullies deep enough to maintain tremendous chip volume. The Carbide Cutting Tools end mills 2 flute is available in 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, and 3/4" diameters with a 45" high helix angle proving the maximum chip flow ideal for milling aluminum. Like all the cutting tools with end mills made by Carbide Cutting Tools, the 2 flute aluminum end mills is produced with Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) precision, and must meet exacting accuracy standards. Even though Carbide Cutting Tools offers products at prices significantly lower than those of its competitors, they strive to maintain the highest quality while providing state-of-the-art cutting tool technology in their more than 3500 items. Their range of products, which you can view in their catalog, includes carbide, CerMet, silicon nitride, PCBN, and PCB end mills, thread mill, milling inserts, and turning inserts. Carbide Cutting Tools' made-in-the-USA line is backed by a guarantee which promises to either replace or refund the price (minus restocking and delivery fees) of any purchase which does not meet your expectations. To qualify for the replacement or refund the buyer simply returns the items along with the paperwork and original packaging within thirty days. Designed for reliability, durability, and affordability, Carbide Cutting Tools end mills are exactly what any machining business needs!
